Conductor / Musical Director
Keith trained at the Royal Academy of Music London, studying clarinet and bass clarinet with John Davies and Alan Hacker, and piano with the famous English song writer Michael Head. Keith has spent much of his life in music in education,teaching in Primary schools, Comprehensive Schools, Higher Education and a number of specialist schools with strong musical traditions.
For ten years he ran his own music shop, and publishing and software company. During this time, he published a wide variety of educational and orchestral music, and produced some of the first available music computer software, written by his wife Jane.
Keith is a clarinetist and conductor. He has given many recitals and currently enjoys performing chamber music and playing with local orchestras. He has a vast experience as an orchestral and operatic conductor, and was conductor of the Blackpool Symphony Orchestra for twelve years.
Keith has adjudicated at numerous music festivals and has been an Edexcel examiner in music composition. He has had educational compositions published by Boosey and Hawkes.
Keith was an International Examiner for Trinity College London from 2006 tom 2019 examining extensively in the UK and in many countries around the world including India, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Malta, Cyprus, UAE, Jordan, Australia and Hong Kong.
Keith lives in Cleveleys with his wife Jane who plays bassoon in the Fylde Concert Orchestra. He has four sons and five grand children. Other interests include walking and gardening.
